PMI Support and Consulting – From an Industry Expert

Diggity LIBS, NDT/PMI, News & Press, Online Training, XRF

  • Are you getting puzzling results from your XRF or LIBS analyzer on alloy materials and don’t know why?

  • Inconsistent chemistries, carbon equivalents or residuals out of spec without a good explanation why?

  • Questions about analyzer operation and sample prep for handheld X-ray or LIBS?

With travel and visitor restrictions, are you having trouble interpreting your PMI results and need some expert advice — for FREE?

Paul Lawrence PMI Concepts

Please meet Paul Lawrence and his company PMI Concepts. Paul has been performing PMI work, and training and certifying inspectors, for over 10 years. He’s an expert at all aspects of PMI including XRF, spark OES, and now LIBS technologies.

While travel and visitor restrictions persist, SciAps is making Paul available for 1-2 hour FREE consulting slots. He will provide web-based (Zoom) support to answer your PMI application and analyzer questions. Feel free to send him data or analyzer results ahead of your time slot, or even test samples live. Paul will have alloy materials, plus XRF and LIBS analyzers to demonstrate operational and sample preparation techniques — whatever’s needed to answer your questions.

How to sign up for some consulting or tech support time? Contact PMI Concepts to book a time slot or learn more about the training course.

Alternatively, feel free to post questions to Instagram at @PMIConcepts, where Paul will also be running Q & A on the latest on PMI techniques and equipment.

Coming Soon — Advanced Training

PMI Concepts will be starting up multi-day PMI training courses as soon as travel and visitation restrictions subside. The course features in-depth PMI training on XRF and LIBS. It includes substantial hands-on use of both technologies on real-world alloy materials and welds.  A proficiency exam is offered, and attendees who pass the exam will be awarded a certificate.

While there is not yet a formal industry certification for PMI, attendees who pass this exam may be considered thoroughly proficient using both LIBS and XRF technologies for even the most demanding PMI applications, including low RE materials, L-grade stainless, carbon equivalents and welds chemistry.

Training courses are limited to 6 people due to the extensive hands-on training. Private courses limited to attendees from a single company are also available.
