SciAps X Series is the world’s lightest, smallest, fastest, high precision family of XRF analyzers. With the newest models under 3 lbs. and lightning fast, they can be used all day long without fatigue. Built on the Android platform for global connectivity, you can manage your data and fleet anywhere, print or email results seamlessly. And visibility? An integrated camera with video for sample viewing is included with all models, and the latest smartphone display provides easy viewing in all lighting conditions.



SciAps offers two platforms for handheld XRF guns.



Premium

At 2.75 lbs., the X-550 and X-505 are the lightest analyzers ever created, in a mostly metal frame for ultimate durability and duty cycle. The narrow, slender form factor accesses the toughest test locations, with the latest 2.7″ (68.6mm) display for rear viewing of grade and chemistry.

SciAps Premium XRF Analyzers

The X-550 sets a new performance standard for handheld XRF. Weighing 2.8 lbs. (1.3 kg) with the battery, it’s the smallest, lightest, fastest XRF analyzer on the market. It’s fast on all alloys and as good on aluminums as it is on high temps for the scrap market, and it comes with fully loaded apps for NDT (Residuals, Sulfidic Corrosion, Alloy).

The X-550 uses the industry’s most powerful X-ray tube, operating up to 3x the power in the Beam 2 setting compared to the SciAps X-505 and any other handheld XRF analyzers. The unique geometry and tube power optimize performance for low atomic number measurement applications including sulfidic corrosion (low Si), phosphorus and sulfur, and aluminum alloys, as well as for residuals analysis per API 751 and 5L specifications.

What’s the difference between the premium X-550 and X-505? The answer is simple: Speed on low atomic number elements such as Mg, Al, Si, P and S. When the X-550 runs at about 3x the X-ray power in the “Beam 2” setting (also known as the low voltage setting) compared to the X-505 or other handheld XRF analyzers, the measured intensities from Mg, Al, Si, P and S (plus K, Ca and Cl in other apps) are 3x higher, producing 3x faster measurements with the X-550.








The X-550 and X-505 also come with A-list accessibility. They offer the narrowest form factor for reaching even the most difficult testing locations.



SciAps “Value-priced” XRF Analyzer Series



SciAps features 3 models with great performance and value

Want the accuracy and throughput of the premium models, but in a lower-priced series of analyzers? Then consider the totally re-engineered “value” series, with improved heat dissipation, reduced weight, new user-interface. All internal electronics now use less power and operate at higher temperatures—no drift or shutdown.

X-250, X-200 Silicon drift-detector (SDD) models. Competitively priced for every performance requirement. This platform weighs about 3.4 lbs, making it about 0.5 lbs heavier than the X-505/550 platform, but still with industry leading speed and precision. The X-250 is the value version of the X-550. The X-200 is the value version of the X-505, similarly sacrificing a little speed on Mg, Si, Al, P and S.

X-50 The “old school” PiN diode technology. Great basic analysis of transition and heavy metals. A great value for analyzing basic alloys including stainless, high temps, copper alloys.

An XRF analyzer designed from the ground up to be the fastest scrap sorter in existence. Offers comparable speed/precision as top of the line competing brands, at a lower price point, in a smaller, lighter package. Our most economical model. Great basic analysis of transition and heavy metals.

Alloys
Read more Best value where aluminum sorting is daily but not the major focus. Requires a 2nd beam test of 8-10s for Mg at 0.8% in Al base. Requires 5-6 second beam 2 test time for Al, Si, S and P. Requires 15-20 s to measure 0.3-0.5% Mg in grades such 6063 or 356 or 3004. Basic sorting of SS, high temps and red metals. Only sort Al alloys by MLCs, 2000s and 7000s.
Geochem, Soils
Read more Offers comparable precision, limits of detection and elemental range of other leading XRF brands, but in a lighter weight package, and at a lower price point. Same element suite as the X-100, but with older PiN diode detector technology. Test times will be much longer to achieve same precision as X-100, but X-50 platform lower priced.

The X features a novel high speed shutter that only opens during testing. The shutter eliminates the single biggest cause of broken detectors — stray fingers, tools, or pieces of metal that strike the detector between tests.

The SciAps Test Stand allows you to turn your X-200 handheld into a bench-top analyzer. Fully shielded with hardware interlocks, it’s designed for reliability, durability and safety. The super stable base positions your samples correctly regardless of what’s going on around you. Integrated fans keep the analyzer cool even at the most extreme duty cycles and environments.

X-ray and Laser in One Box

The SciAps X and Z run on the same software platform, operating system (Android App-based) and have the same UI. Any operator is easily trained for both analyzers.

The X and Z also operate on the same battery, use the same charger and other accessories.
